I just stepped on the scale in my bathroom....and it was not a pretty sight. I have 3 excuses I would like to give. Jed stopped nursing this past week and I have been counting on him to take some of my "rightfully earned" calories. I also went to a very fun girls weekend where food was no object of concern. I was a blast....Then there was thanksgiving. Then the day after thanksgiving when the apple pie is just as good, if not better. Dang you scale for ruining my homecoming and dang you 31 year old body for not being able to maintain my 114lb figure.

My process of making art is very dynamic....meaning, I have no idea what I am doing when I start. I just go and make. It is flawed process, but very very fun. This is a piece for Christmas. It has a music box mounted in the box. The box was upcycled and the snowman, noel banner, trees are made, carved, painted and antiqued. I had a lot of fun making this one.

Map Marking
Our family travels a lot. During the summer we were off on some trip almost every other week. Part of this was J's new found freedom with part time work and part time school. We had some great adventures..... I also have a part time obsessions with Maps. I mostly love the colors that the map makers use. So I wanted to keep track of the states that we have been to, so I came up with the idea of Map Markers. They are little paper sculptures that are backed with a pin....So you can stick it right into the state that you have been to. The catch is that you need to have a map that is backed with foam core. Which can be hard to do at home, but easy to do at Office Max or Staples(it costs about $20)
Let me show you some pics. I have about 25states done, and I am trying to work on the rest. (the east coast dosnt always jazz me like the west) The 3d effect of the pictures are pretty cool. Let me know if you can think of anything for Connecticut, or New Hampshire. I am totally stumped with those two.
