Happy Birthday lil Brother

Elliott, if you are listening, happy birthday yesterday! 

The Family and I got back from Paridise, Ca on Sunday.  Melissa and I got to do some antique prowsing and I found some cute cute vintage dress patterns for little girls.  I could not find my camera, so you will just have to wait until I can find it.  I also went out and bought some fabric for my first little dress! I cant wait.  Jeremy is going to take Derek to a boat show tonght, so I will have a little time to work on it!  I will write more when I find the picture taker

Sick day Numero Duo

feel better today, but all I really wanted to do was sit and look at books(notice I didn't say read)  I love love going to the Library and getting books that inspire me.  I cant remember a time when I didn't love to get lost in libraries.  I have tried looking on Amazon, but it drives me crazy not being able to open up the books and look at the pictures.  Anyway, sitting all day is not kosher to a two year old.  So I kept moving and eventually got the kids down, and surprise surprise.... I got quite a bit done.  I made this little rabbit(it is not stuffed yet) for a new baby in the neighborhood. I am also trying to finish this painting .  It is a Hickory Dickory Dock.  It was in keeping with the Nursery Rhyme theme for the past week.  I am frustrated lately with my glue that I use.  It warps the paper after I put the glue on.  I have tried all the tricks but it still seems to do it. So I need to find a new glue.  I love how the mice turned out, but I started to wonder why did the mouse start to run up the clock?  I think I might add a cat on his tail.  If you notice I did one mouse on the left lighter than the right. I thought that was pretty cool.  That's it for tonight.  Tomorrow is another day.

Sick day

Today is a sick day.  I finally caught a cold, I new it was coming sooner or later.  I wanted to show you a pic of a painting I did for my nefew Capt. Canyon.  It is a bad pic so bare with me. 

Derek didnt take a nap

No way, he shouts! No night night!   This means no nap for me and no project time.  I did manage to squeeze in a pillow.  I plan on making a bunch of fun pillows for Libby's little toddler bed in her room.  This pillow was made from the sweater that I wore on my first date with Jeremy.  It was worn out in one spot, so I am glad I could salvage it somehow.

Lazy Sunday

Last night I finished a painting of "Hey diddle diddle" I really like the way the moon turned out.  The hardest part was the cat. For some reason I couldn't cut it out right.  I left the faces off of the plate and spoon, for some reason they didn't need a face.  I also love how the plate and moon are opposites.  I picture that the spoon convinced the plate to move out of his mom's house and run away with her.  He(the plate) still has sensible shoes on.  II also finish the sign above

There is no chocolate in the house!

I couldnt find any chocolate today, which had actually planned at the last grocery store trip, but I looked in the pantry in shock...like someone betrayed me.  I found this amazing quilting book yesterday on Amazon.  I did judge the book by the cover.... I love that quilt, the colors everything.  Somthings just grab me, a house, a color or texture. This is one of them.  Here is what I did today.  I have a bunch of blank onsies for Libby and I have iching to fill them with cute little girl things.  Here is what I came up with.... and on the back... Its a little rabbit scetch that came off of Derek's Alphabet poster....R is for Rabbit, somtimes B is for Bunny. 

New Journals

I bought some new journals today, one for my bag and one for home.  I really love being able to write thoughts and ideas out and cutting out magazine pics.  Here is my new project... .one that has been on my mind for the long time.  It is going to be a barn wood sign with two love birds on it.  I think it will look good. This design is from a new stamp from usps.gov

In frustration, I crumpled Derek's quilt on the floor. THis is what it looks like, when I am not frustrated.  Emily (quilting goddess of a sister in law)said she would help me finish it.

Robin Hood

Dereks Robin Hood tape is beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  I guess I will have to brake down and buy him a DVD of it.   I am workind alot of projects right now, I have 2 quilts going and one painting.  At first I was angry with myself becasue I wanted to finish one thing before I start the next, but I think with a lot of projects going I can keep liking what I am doing.  Dereks quilt is almost done, I just need to quilt it.  Last night I started a scrap quilt with little 2 inch squares.  I like it, but I think it needs somthing more, so I had a yard of alphabet fabric, I never new what to do with it, because the letters were not the same square size.  Anyway, I ended up piecing it together and it doesnt look that bad.  I have AB and C done.  My painting is the farm scene.  I like it.  I am excited for all the intricate details i have planned for it.

New Family pictures

J and I got some family pictures done.  We have a friend with a great camera, we figure if we took a ton of pictures we would get one right.  We got a few (thankfully)  I just ordered an 11X somthing for 9ish bucks!
